We are a close knit team with sales agents located throughout New Zealand. Our head office is located in Auckland and we are wanting to expand our business further in the Lower North and South Islands. We are looking for a business development manager who is dedicated to seeing our mission come to life in the lives of everyday Kiwi business owners. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, a good understanding of the energy industry including knowledge about electricity generation and supply, and exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

Key responsibilities

We are looking for a talented individual to lead the development and execution of sales strategies and set sales targets to maximize our organization's revenue and customer loyalty. The role involves:

Sales Strategy Leadership:

  • Developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets, ensuring optimal sales performance and customer retention.
  • Increase our customer base in Lower North Island and South Island.
  • Achieve weekly, monthly and quarterly sales targets by maximising current customer opportunities, upcoming promotions and deals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sales records, including client interactions, opportunities, and outcomes, using the company's CRM system.

Marketing Strategy Leadership:

  • Creating and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote our services to a broad audience.

Brand Development and Loyalty:

  • Designing and implementing strategies to enhance brand image and foster brand loyalty, driving increased consumption of our services.
  • Create and implement strategies that increase brand awareness in the energy market.
  • Lead contract negotiations, ensuring favourable pricing & terms and conditions.

Public Relations and Reputation Management:

  • Building and maintaining a positive image and reputation for our organization among customers and the general public.
  • Direct and implement customer retention strategies to ensure long term customer relationships.
  • Conduct detailed energy assessments and analysis for clients to recommend the most suitable energy solutions.

Skills and attributes of the candidate:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • A skilled communicator with a natural ability to build strong rapport with customers
  • Natural ability to turn a ‘no’ to a ‘yes’
  • Pro-active, positive, enthusiastic, energetic, responsible and friendly
  • Available to work weekends or public holidays if require
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workload and manage your time to meet business expectations and deadlines
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage and track sales activities.
  • Experience and knowledge in an energy related industry
  • Willing to travel if require to different cities/towns
