DLPS Car Imports and Exports Limited is seeking a motivated and experienced Dealership Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the dealership and ensure the efficient management of vehicle sales, customer service, inventory control, staff supervision, and business development activities.The successful candidate will play a key role in driving sales performance, maintaining high customer satisfaction standards, and ensuring compliance with relevant New Zealand laws and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities
The Dealership Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

Managing the overall operations of the dealership, including vehicle sales, procurement, customer service, and administration.

Planning, directing, and coordinating dealership activities to achieve sales and profitability targets.

Developing and implementing sales strategies and promotional activities to increase business growth and market presence.

Managing the dealership’s vehicle inventory, including sourcing, purchasing, pricing, stock rotation, and quality control of imported and local vehicles.

Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand to support business decision-making.

Supervising, training, and supporting sales and administrative staff to maintain high performance and professional standards.

Ensuring compliance with New Zealand transport, consumer protection, health and safety, and employment legislation.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers, finance providers, and service partners.

Handling customer inquiries, complaints, negotiations, and after-sales support professionally and efficiently.

Overseeing documentation relating to vehicle sales, registrations, warranties, financing, and import/export processes.

Preparing operational reports, sales forecasts, budgets, and performance evaluations for management purposes.

Ensuring vehicles meet quality, presentation, and compliance standards prior to sale.

Coordinating with mechanics, panel beaters, compliance centres, and service providers where required.

Maintaining a safe, organised, and customer-focused working environment.
Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:

A relevant NZQF Level 5 qualification or higher in Business Management, Automotive Studies, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Sales, or a related field; A Bachelors qualification would be preferred but not mandatory
OR

At least two years of relevant work experience in vehicle sales, automotive dealership operations, business management, or a related role.
A qualification or background in Mechanical or Automotive studies would be considered a significant advantage, as it supports a deeper understanding of vehicle composition, functionality, diagnostics, and customer requirements.
