RESTATE is looking for an experienced hands-on technician from restoration, trades, cleaning, carpet cleaning, pest control, facilities, maintenance, insurance repair, demolition, hygiene, or other practical service industries. You do not need direct restoration experience, but you’ll need strong practical ability, reliability, customer confidence, and a willingness to learn. Full training provided for the right person, with career progression in a growing NZ-owned property restoration company.

Bring Your Hands-On Experience Into a Specialist Industry

RESTATE Property Restoration is growing, and we are looking for an experienced hands-on person who wants to build a career in a specialist, high-demand industry.

This role could suit someone from restoration, trades, cleaning, carpet cleaning, pest control, facilities maintenance, insurance repair, demolition, construction support, hygiene services, remediation, building services, or another practical service background.

You do not need to have worked in property restoration before. If you are reliable, practical, good with customers, and comfortable working on site, we can train you in the specialist skills.

About the Role

As a Property Restoration Technician, you’ll help restore homes and businesses after water damage, fire, mould, contamination, trauma, and other property damage events.

You’ll work across a wide range of jobs, including flood response, drying, specialist cleaning, mould remediation, fire and smoke cleaning, equipment setup, moisture monitoring, site preparation, and customer communication.

This is a practical, hands-on role with technical training, real responsibility, and strong career potential for the right person.

This Role Could Suit Someone With Experience In

  • Property restoration
  • Flood response or structural drying
  • Carpet cleaning or carpet drying
  • Commercial or specialist cleaning
  • Pest control or hygiene services
  • Mould remediation or decontamination
  • Fire, smoke, or odour work
  • Facilities maintenance or building services
  • Insurance repair or make-safe work
  • Construction support or trade assistant work
  • Demolition, strip-out, or site labouring
  • Plumbing, drainage, roofing, electrical, HVAC, or general trade support
  • Removals, delivery, warehousing, or logistics with strong practical skills

Direct restoration experience is helpful, but not essential.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Attending property damage jobs across Auckland
  • Supporting flood, fire, mould, contamination, trauma, and specialist cleaning jobs
  • Setting up drying, air filtration, cleaning, and restoration equipment
  • Carrying out practical restoration tasks on site
  • Taking job photos, notes, readings, and updates
  • Communicating with customers, clients, and the RESTATE team
  • Supporting senior technicians and project leads
  • Following job scopes, safety requirements, and RESTATE systems
  • Helping maintain equipment, vehicles, and job readiness
  • Working as part of a professional and supportive team

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who already understands what it means to work on site, deal with customers, and get the job done properly.

You will need to be:

  • Reliable, punctual, and practical
  • Comfortable with physical, hands-on work
  • Confident working in different property environments
  • Good with customers and able to communicate clearly
  • Able to follow instructions, job scopes, and safety processes
  • Comfortable using a phone or app for job photos, notes, and updates
  • Able to work well in a team
  • Willing to learn specialist restoration systems and equipment
  • Legally entitled to work full-time in New Zealand
  • Holding a full New Zealand driver licence

Experience in restoration, trades, services, cleaning, carpet cleaning, facilities, maintenance, or similar industries will be highly regarded.

The Reality of the Work

This is not a standard cleaning job, labouring job, or maintenance role.

Some jobs are urgent. Some are messy. Some involve damaged buildings, wet materials, contaminated areas, or customers who are under pressure. You may be carrying equipment, removing affected materials, setting up drying systems, monitoring moisture, cleaning affected areas, and helping restore properties after stressful events.

If you like practical work, variety, problem-solving, and learning technical skills, this role has strong potential.

What You’ll Get

  • $30–$38 per hour depending on experience
  • Full training in specialist restoration methods
  • Opportunity to use and learn modern drying, cleaning, air filtration, and moisture detection equipment
  • Varied work across water damage, fire, mould, contamination, and specialist cleaning
  • Supportive team environment
  • Career growth into senior technician, lead technician, team leader, operations, or future franchise pathways
  • Work with a growing New Zealand-owned company
  • Real opportunity to turn your existing hands-on experience into a specialist career
