About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Workshop Assistant to join our team in Christchurch Central, Canterbury.
This is a full-time permanent position, offering the opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of the workshop, learn on the job, whilst supporting the team with daily engineering tasks.
Ideally you will know your way around a workshop, have an interest in motor vehicles with previous experience in fabrication work.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08:00am to 4:30pm.

What you'll be doing
- Assisting tradespeople with tasks and projects in the workshop
- Maintaining and organising the workshop, tools, and equipment
- Performing general cleaning and housekeeping duties in the workshop
- Ensuring a safe and efficient work environment
- Providing support to the team as needed
- Previous experience as a workshop labourer or general hand preferably in a similar environment
- Strong practical skills and a willingness to learn
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
- Physically fit and able, there is regular heavy lifting due to the nature of the role
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive attitude and a commitment to health and safety
- Good rates of weekly pay
