About the Business

SANGITA & KALPESH PATEL LIMITED operates a busy neighbourhood convenience store serving the Beach Haven community. The store offers a wide range of products including groceries, beverages, lotto products, cigarettes, vaping products, fresh fruit and vegetables, ice cream, hot food items, phone cards, gaming cards, packaged bacon, meat and chicken products, and other everyday convenience goods.

We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to take responsibility for the overall management and performance of the store.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail store to ensure efficient and profitable business performance.

  • Develop and implement sales, pricing and promotional strategies to maximise revenue and customer engagement.

  • Monitor sales performance, profit margins and operating costs, and take appropriate actions to achieve business objectives.

  • Analyse stock movement and sales trends to determine purchasing requirements and inventory levels.

  • Plan and coordinate stock ordering, stock rotation and inventory control procedures to minimise shortages, wastage and losses.

  • Liaise and negotiate with suppliers regarding product sourcing, pricing, delivery schedules and promotional opportunities.

  • Recruit, train, supervise and performance-manage retail staff.

  • Prepare staff rosters, allocate duties and monitor staff productivity and customer service standards.

  • Resolve customer enquiries, complaints and service issues in a professional manner.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, age-restricted product regulations, and other relevant legal obligations.

  • Oversee cash handling, lotto operations, security procedures, and store opening and closing processes.

  • Monitor merchandising standards, product displays and store presentation to maximise sales opportunities.

  • Prepare operational reports and provide recommendations to improve store performance and profitability.

  • Maintain adequate stock levels of core products and seasonal items to meet customer demand.

  • Undertake other management duties as reasonably required for the successful operation of the business.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have either:

  • Ideally 2-3 years' experience in a retail supervisory/management, customer service or equivalent.
