Natural Habitats Ltd has established itself as the most-awarded landscaper in New Zealand, offering unrivaled expertise since 1978. Our services encompass the design, construction, and maintenance of diverse landscapes, spanning residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, including green walls and green roofs.

With loads of work on the go, we are looking for experienced landscapers/Landscape Gardeners to join our team in Auckland. This role will be permanent and full-time.

Your responsibilities includes:

  • To deliver individual projects through undertaking assigned jobs in soft and hard landscaping. 

  • To demonstrate the application of trade skills when delivering landscape projects, that reflect positively on the competency standard of the company and its employees. This includes: 

                       - Knowing basic plant and soil properties 

                       - Preparing soil & applying mulch 

                       - Using efficient planting techniques 

                       - Installing lawn 

                       - Interpreting and following a plant layout 

                       - Supporting build of hard landscaping features as per instructions 

  • To demonstrate the application of trade skills when completing landscape maintenance. This includes: 

                      - Controlling weed, physically or chemically 

                      - Mowing lawns 

                      - Pruning, trimming, and detailing plants 

                      - Maintaining irrigation 

                     - Replanting 

                     - Maintain the yard and shed environment as clean and tidy. 

  • To ensure the truck and tools are organised and maintained to the highest standards. 

The ideal applicant needs to:

  • Have at least 2 years relevant work experience in construction or landscaping or horticulture industry, or relevant qualification equivalent to NZQA Level 4

  • Have a firm understanding of the health and safety requirements that need to be upheld on site and be able to ensure they are adhered to.

  • Be able to interpret and comprehend plans to ensure accurate builds and be able to collaborate with other team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently.

Pay conditions:

  • Minimum $27 to Maximum $35 per hour depending on skills and experience
  • Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week is guaranteed.
  • Location : You will be required to work in Auckland.
