We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our growing business. This role is responsible for identifying growth opportunities, expanding market presence, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting the development and execution of strategic marketing and business initiatives.

- Hourly rate: $35 TO $40
- Guaranteed hours: 30 per week
- Maximum hours: 55 per week
- Location: Wellington
Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research and analyse consumer purchasing trends within the confectionery and snack food sectors to identify emerging opportunities.
- Analyse competitor products, pricing strategies, promotional campaigns and market positioning to support marketing decisions.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, customer engagement and market share.
- Evaluate customer and market data to identify target market segments and optimise marketing activities.
- Coordinate promotional campaigns across digital, retail and trade channels.
- Develop product positioning and go-to-market strategies for new confectionery and beverage products.
- Assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and prepare reports on campaign performance, customer engagement and return on investment.
- Recommend pricing, packaging and product presentation strategies based on market research findings.
- Liaise with suppliers and retail partners to support marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
- Monitor market conditions and consumer preferences to identify opportunities for new products and business growth.
- Prepare marketing plans, budgets and campaign schedules aligned with business objectives.
- Support brand development activities and ensure consistent brand representation across marketing channels.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree or higher qualification, or at least five years of relevant experience
- Strong market research, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Proven ability to identify and secure new business opportunities.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
