An opportunity for a talented Sales Manager to join our close-knit team. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and business development plans across domestic and international markets.
Your primary focus will be to increase revenue, expand distribution channels, strengthen key customer relationships, and identify new commercial opportunities for Good Chow’s premium product portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Growth: Lead the planning and delivery of sales initiatives to drive sustainable business growth throughout New Zealand and targeted export regions
- Channel Development: Identify and Secure new business opportunities with distributors, wholesalers, major retailers, foodservice operators, and international trading partners
- Account Management: Build and cultivate strong business relationships with all key customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention
- Business Negotiations: Lead contract negotiations regarding commercial terms, supply agreements and pricing structures
- Market Presence and Events: Coordinate participation in food exhibitions, trade shows, product launches, and industry events, in both domestic and export markets
- Reporting: Monitor sales performance, providing regular analytical reports and market insights to the Directors
- Marketing: Design and execute detailed marketing and digital promotion plans, including social media campaigns, content marketing, and customer engagement initiatives
- Team Leadership: Supervise and provide guidance to sales support personnels as the business expands
About You
- A bachelor’s degree in business and marketing (or a closely related discipline), or;
- 5-years of relevant experience in sales management, business development in a managerial capacity;
- A strong understanding of food manufacturing, premium FMCGs and luxury food items would be an advantage;
- Proven track record in sales with local mainstream supermarkets (e.g. Foodstuffs and Woolworths) would be an advantage;
- Direct experience of navigating international export market would be a significant asset;
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with a natural ability to build long-lasting relationships would be key to your success in this role;
- Willingness and flexibility to occasional short-term travel domestically and internationally as required for market development.
