ExtraStaff is currently seeking experienced Civil and Heavy Machine Operators for a range of civil construction and earthworks projects across Whangarei and Northland.

 

We work with reputable civil contractors delivering infrastructure, roading, drainage, subdivision, and earthworks projects throughout the region. About the Role

 

You'll be involved in a variety of civil construction projects operating machinery such as:

 

  • Excavators 


 

  • Loaders


 

  • Rollers


 

  • Compactors


 

  • Dump Trucks


 

  • Other heavy civil plant and equipment


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Key duties may include:

 

  • Bulk earthworks and site preparation


 

  • Trenching and drainage installation


 

  • Roading and infrastructure projects


 

  • Loading and moving materials around site


 

  • Daily machine checks and basic maintenance


 

  • Working alongside civil crews to meet project deadlines


 

  • Following health and safety procedures at all times


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What We're Looking For

 

  • Previous civil construction or earthworks experience


 

  • Proven experience operating heavy machinery


 

  • WTR endorsements


 

  • Class 2 licence highly advantageous


 

  • Strong commitment to health and safety


 

  • Reliable, hardworking, and physically fit


 

  • Own reliable transport


 

  • Ability to work well within a team


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence


 

  • WTR Endorsements preferred 


 

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test


 

  • Legal right to work in New Zealand
