Rapid Movers are in need of energetic and strong individuals to join our company full time (minimum 30 hours)as Furniture Removalists.

As part of this role, you will assist with transporting, and delivering goods to clients or businesses in a safe and timely manner. You will be the face of the company on the street interacting with our customers as you deliver their orders, collect signatures, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

The key responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Driving a removal truck to transport household and office furniture, appliances and equipment between locations.
  • Inspecting furniture and items before loading and noting any existing damage.
  • Packing, wrapping and protecting furniture and fragile items to prevent damage during transportation.
  • Dismantling furniture where required and reassembling it at the delivery location.
  • Loading furniture and equipment safely and arranging items to maximise space and prevent movement during transit.
  • Securing loads using straps, blankets and other protective equipment.
  • Unloading and placing furniture and equipment at the customer’s nominated location.
  • Planning delivery routes and ensuring removals are completed safely and within scheduled timeframes.
  • Obtaining delivery confirmation and accepting payments where required.
  • Providing customer service, responding to enquiries and resolving removal-related concerns.
  • Maintaining the removal vehicle and reporting any servicing or repair requirements.
  • Complying with road-safety, workplace health and safety, manual-handling and transportation requirements.

Experience and Attributes Required

  • Individuals with experience are preferred. 
  • Must hold a current full class 2 NZ driver's license or equivalent in any other country.
  •  Physically fit - Ability to drive, lift, and carry heavy items for extended periods.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • The ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own.
  • Strong time management and customer service skills.
