About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Store Manager to support the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our busy convenience and grocery store. This position requires strong leadership, organisational, and retail management skills to ensure efficient store operations, customer satisfaction, and business growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the convenience and grocery store to ensure efficient and profitable business performance.
• Develop and implement sales, pricing, promotional, and merchandising strategies to maximise revenue and customer engagement.
• Monitor sales performance, analyse product demand and purchasing trends, and implement initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Oversee inventory control, stock ordering, supplier coordination, stock rotation, and replenishment activities to maintain appropriate stock levels and minimise wastage.
• Manage supplier relationships and coordinate purchasing activities to ensure product availability and competitive pricing.
• Plan and maintain merchandise displays, promotional areas, and product presentation standards to maximise sales opportunities.
• Monitor operational expenses and implement cost-control measures to support business objectives and profitability targets.
• Participate in recruitment activities, conduct staff training, monitor employee performance, and contribute to workforce planning and development.
• Prepare staff rosters and allocate resources to ensure efficient store operations and high customer service standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety requirements, health and safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Resolve complex customer enquiries, complaints, and service issues in a professional and timely manner.
• Prepare sales and stock reports and provide recommendations to improve store performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and business growth.
• Undertake any other management-related duties as reasonably required from time to time.
Skills and Experience Required
• At least 2 years’ experience in retail, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, stock control, merchandising, and customer service principles.
• Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and flexible shifts as required.
