We are looking for multiple experienced Forestry Workers to join our team based in Gisborne.

This is a permanent full-time role, with 40 hours per week.

The role may require travels to different forestry regions from time to time.

The role is to carry out forestry and silviculture work safely, reliably and to the required quality standard, while constributing to a productive crew culture and meeting client, environmental and health and safety requirements.

Your day-to-day tasks include but not limited to completing assigned forestry tasks safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard.

You need to follow all site instructions, daily plans, work methods, environmental controls and client requirements.

Other day-to-day duties include silviculture and forestry field work, including planting, releasing, thinning, pruning, slash management, weed control support and general forest maintenance as directed.

For the right candidates, you need to demonstrate:

  • One-year relevant experience
  • Physically fit and able to perform demanding outdoor work safely
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality and ability to work as a team.
  • Willing to travel for work
  • Reliability & teamwork
  • NZ class 1 drivers licence preferred, or willing to obtain
  • Pass pre-employment and random drug & alcohol testing, satisfactory reference checks and right to work in New Zealand.
