Pay Rate: NZ$32.00 – NZ$35.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience)

Due to continued business growth and increasing demand for our services, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrician to join our professional team.

The Role

As an Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of electrical installation, maintenance, repair and fault-finding work across various customer sites while ensuring compliance with all relevant New Zealand electrical standards and safety requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, control systems and lighting systems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans and electrical diagrams.
• Carry out electrical installations for residential, commercial and industrial projects.
• Perform routine electrical maintenance and preventative servicing.
• Inspect transformers, switchboards, circuit breakers and other electrical components.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate testing equipment.
• Repair or replace defective electrical wiring, fixtures and equipment.
• Carry out circuit breaker maintenance and corrective repairs.
• Install and maintain electrical apparatus, distribution boards, switches and safety devices.
• Install and connect alarm systems, intercoms and associated electrical equipment.
• Install conduits and complete cable installations in accordance with industry standards.
• Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility and compliance.
• Test completed installations and ensure they meet applicable regulations and safety standards.
• Inspect existing systems and replace ageing or damaged wiring and insulated cables where required.
• Carry out effective fault-finding and rectify hazards or malfunctions promptly.
• Maintain accurate job records and communicate progress to management.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with New Zealand electrical regulations, health and safety requirements and company procedures.
• Deal professionally with customers and maintain a high standard of workmanship and service.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A minimum of 3 years' relevant electrical work experience; and
• A current EWRB practising licence (Limited or Full); and
• Sound knowledge of electrical systems, testing equipment and fault diagnosis; and
• The ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical plans; and
• Good communication and problem-solving skills; and
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety; and
• A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

A current New Zealand driver's licence would be advantageous.

Location
