We are looking for one experienced painter to join our team.

You will be paid an hourly rate of $30.00 to $40.00 depending on your experience and skill level. You will be working in Auckland. This role will be a permanent, full-time position and will be guaranteed 30 hours of work per week from Monday to Saturday but can be up to 50 hours weekly.

Paid weekly, 4 weeks annual leave, Statutory holidays, Sick and bereavement leave. Opportunities to upskill.

Candidates need to be able to start immediately and work lawfully in New Zealand

 

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Work with customers on colour selection and finishes

Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary

Calculate materials required for a job

Erect scaffolding under five meters high

Prepare, clean, and tape all jobsites.

Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.

Fill holes, cracks and joins, and clean surfaces of dust and dirt.

Mix and match paint colours.

Mix and apply paints, varnishes, and sealants for a lasting finish.

Cut and hang wallpaper, vinyl and backing paper.

Apply paint and decorative paint finishes such as glazing, graining, marbling and lettering.

Applies various finishes to buildings, rooms, or other structures, including primers or sealers.

Move necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.

 

The successful candidate must have:

  • At least two years of on-site work experience or Level 4 painting skills certificate
  • Motivated, good work attitude and good communication skills
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Physically fit and able to handle the heavy workload
  • Quality workmanship and eye for detail
  • Commitment to health and workplace safety
  • Strong ability to work independently
  • Able to pass health, drug and criminal checks if required
