ROOFER

We are looking for one experienced roofer to join our team. 

You will be paid an hourly rate of $30.00 to $40.00 depending on your experience and  skill level. You will be working in Auckland. This role will be a permanent, full-time position and will be guaranteed 30 hours of work per week from Monday to Saturday but can be up to 50 hours weekly.

Paid weekly, 4 weeks annual leave, Statutory holidays, Sick and bereavement leave. Opportunities to upskill.

Candidates need to be able to start immediately and work lawfully in New Zealand.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Reading and understanding building plans and deciding on what type of materials are required for the job
• Determining the specifications and measurements, estimating the amount of roofing material to be used
• Preparing the job site, erecting scaffolding, ladders, and other safety equipment
• Cutting, sizing and preparing the selected roofing material to fit the area requires coverage
• Loading roofing material and waterproofing underlay on to work area, placing, and securing them over the roof
• Nailing, stapling, aligning, and installing roof material with wire, staples, and nails to prevent leaks
• Altering, repairing and restoring roof when required
• Maintaining clean and safe worksite

The successful candidate must have:

• At least two years of on-site work experience or Level 4 roofing skills certificate
• Motivated, good work attitude and good communication skills
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Physically fit and able to handle the heavy workload
• Quality workmanship and eye for detail
• Commitment to health and workplace safety 
• Able to pass health, drug and criminal checks if required
• Strong ability to work independently
