Singh Trading Limited operates a gardening and landscaping business under the trading name Affordable Landscaping. The business provides gardening, landscaping, outdoor maintenance, and general property maintenance services across the Canterbury region.

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Garden Labourer to support our gardening and landscaping operations.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be required to perform garden labouring duties to support gardening and landscaping work. Duties may include:

• Assisting with garden preparation, planting, lawn care, and general outdoor maintenance.
• Loading, unloading, moving, and organising tools, materials, soil, plants, garden waste, and landscaping supplies.
• Preparing work sites by clearing debris, removing weeds, trimming plants, and tidying outdoor areas.
• Assisting with digging, levelling, soil spreading, mulching, edging, and other landscaping preparation tasks.
• Supporting tradespeople, gardeners, landscapers, and other workers with daily work requirements.
• Operating basic hand tools and gardening equipment safely, where required.
• Cleaning and maintaining tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
• Following workplace health and safety instructions and using personal protective equipment as required.
• Carrying out physical work in outdoor conditions and completing tasks as directed by the supervisor or manager.
• Ensuring work is completed to a safe, tidy, and acceptable standard.

Terms and Conditions of Employment

• Pay Rate: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour.
• Minimum Guaranteed Hours: 30 hours per week.
• Work Location: Canterbury Region.
• Actual Work Site: The employee may be required to work at different client sites and landscaping locations within the Canterbury region.
• Employment Type: Full-time employment.
• Work Days: Work may be required on weekdays and weekends depending on business and client requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• A minimum Level 2 qualification; or
• At least 6 months of relevant work experience.

Applicants should also have:

• Ability to perform physical outdoor work.
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety.
• A full Driver’s Licence
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to work at different locations within the Canterbury region.
