Job type: Full-time, permanent 

Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 hours per week 

Pay rate: $25.00 to $30.00 per hour before tax, depending on skills and experience

LD BEAUTY LIMITED operates beauty salons in Whakatāne, trading as Fancy Nails & Beauty and  Kope Nails & Beauty. We provide beauty therapy services including manicures, pedicures, nail  enhancements, eyelash and eyebrow treatments, waxing, facial care, and skin-care treatments. We are looking for a Beauty Therapist to join our team. The successful applicant will provide  beauty therapy services to clients, maintain hygiene standards, and deliver professional customer  service. 

Responsibilities include: 

The successful applicant will be required to: 

• Consult with clients about their beauty needs and recommend suitable beauty  treatments. 

• Perform manicures and pedicures, including nail shaping, filing, buffing, cuticle care, and  polish or gel polish application. 

• Apply and maintain artificial nails, nail enhancements, and decorative nail art.

• Treat unwanted hair using waxing and other appropriate salon hair-removal methods.

• Provide eyelash and eyebrow beauty services, including lash treatments, eyebrow  shaping, tinting, and grooming. 

• Provide suitable aftercare advice to clients following beauty treatments.

• Receive bookings, arrange appointments, answer client enquiries, and maintain client  records. 

• Maintain clean, safe, and hygienic work areas, tools, and equipment. 

• Process client payments when required. 

• Carry out other beauty therapy duties reasonably required for the role. 

What We're Looking For: 

Applicants must have at least one of the following:

• At least 1 year of relevant working experience; or 

• A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above, or an equivalent overseas qualification;  or 

• A bachelor’s degree in any field.  

Applicants should also have: 

• Practical skills or the ability to perform beauty therapy services such as manicures,  pedicures, nail enhancement services, waxing, and eyelash/eyebrow treatments.

• Good attention to detail and good customer service skills. 

• The ability to work in a busy salon environment. 

• A good understanding of workplace hygiene, cleanliness, and safety. 

• Reliability, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn. 

• The ability to work rostered hours, including weekends and late nights if required.

• The ability to work at either of the employer’s salon locations in Whakatāne, if required:  Fancy Nails & Beauty at 194 The Strand, Whakatāne, and Kope Nails & Beauty at 02  Victoria Avenue, Whakatāne.
