We’re looking for a motivated and personable Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our team based in Tauriko, Tauranga.

This newly created role is focused on expanding our customer base across Te Moana-a-Toitehuatahi (Bay of Plenty).

 The Role

This is a dynamic, on-the-road position ideal for someone who enjoys face-to-face engagement, building meaningful client relationships, and driving business growth.

You will play a key role in growing our presence in the region, developing new customer relationships, and uncovering opportunities within both new and existing accounts.

Alongside your field-based work, you’ll spend time in the Tauranga branch collaborating with internal teams and managing administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow a small customer base into a strong, active portfolio
  • Maintain a consistent call cycle to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Identify new business opportunities and convert leads into long-term clients
  • Negotiate and close sales, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Warehouse teams to align supply with demand
  • Deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs

📍 Note: This is not a work-from-home role and may require occasional weekend phone availability.

About You

You are a confident, self-driven sales professional who thrives in a target-driven environment and enjoys building lasting client relationships.

You will bring:

  • Proven sales experience (food service or hospitality highly advantageous)
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Salesforce experience a bonus)
  • A self-motivated and independent work ethic
  • A tertiary qualification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the food service industry (advantageous)
