We are seeking an experienced and motivated Yard Manager to oversee daily operations, logistics, and inventory management. Its full-time, permanent with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. Salary ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
As a Yard Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Coordinating the procurement, servicing and maintenance of company vehicles, forklifts, machinery and other yard equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
* Liaising with customers, suppliers, transport providers and overseas buyers to coordinate vehicle purchases, sales and export activities.
* Planning and supervising the collection, transportation and delivery of salvage vehicles, dismantled parts and export shipments to ensure deadlines are achieved.
* Ensuring vehicles, recycled parts and other inventory are stored, handled and transported safely to preserve their quality and value.
* Coordinating logistics for the collection of purchased vehicles and the dispatch of dismantled parts and export consignments.
* Maintaining accurate records of vehicle acquisitions, inventory, transport activities and operational performance, and preparing reports for management.
* Ensuring all yard operations comply with workplace health and safety requirements, environmental regulations and company policies.
* Identifying opportunities to improve yard operations, logistics, workflow and resource utilisation to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
To be Successful, You Will Have
Either:
At least two years of relevant work experience or Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in Business Management in automotive industry, Commerce, or a related field.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
The ability to manage multiple operational tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A commitment to workplace health and safety and continuous improvement.
A full New Zealand driver's licence is preferred.
