Position Overview

Due to continued business growth and an increasing number of residential construction projects, Zhonghe Construction Limited is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our Auckland team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering residential construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan, organise, direct, control, and coordinate residential construction and renovation projects from project commencement through to completion and final handover.

· Review and interpret project scope, architectural drawings, specifications, construction programmes, budgets, and resource requirements to support effective project planning and delivery.

· Develop and implement construction programmes, procurement schedules, site work plans, and project timelines to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

· Coordinate labour resources, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, plant, equipment, and material deliveries to support efficient site operations.

· Liaise and negotiate with clients, architects, engineering consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to facilitate the successful delivery of construction projects.

· Monitor construction progress, site activities, labour allocation, procurement, and project milestones, and implement practical solutions to address project risks, delays, and site issues.

· Prepare, review, and administer tender documentation, procurement documentation, contract variations, and other project-related contractual documentation as required.

· Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, New Zealand building legislation, quality standards, company procedures, and health and safety requirements.

· Coordinate the submission of building consent documentation, arrange inspections with local authorities where required, and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the construction process.

· Oversee the performance, quality, and progress of subcontractors' work, including quality inspections, defect management, completion checks, and project handover activities.

· Prepare project reports, maintain construction records and project documentation, and provide regular progress updates to management and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

· Support the continuous improvement of construction management practices, project delivery processes, and operational performance across the business.

Requirements

· Relevant qualification in construction management, civil engineering, building, project management, or a related field.

· Relevant experience in construction project management, site management, residential building, renovation, or construction coordination.

· Strong understanding of residential construction processes, site operations, subcontractor management, project planning, and project delivery.

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and other technical documentation.

· Strong communication, leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate different trades.

· Sound knowledge of New Zealand building practices, building legislation, health and safety requirements, and construction quality standards.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction project management or scheduling software would be an advantage.
