Retail Manager

Position Overview
We are seeking 2 motivated and experienced Retail Manager to oversee the daily
operations of our dairy superette and electronic cigarette/vaping wholesale business in
the Auckland region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing retail operations,
coordinating wholesale activities, achieving sales targets, supervising sta􀆯, managing
inventory, maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring excellent customer service
standards.
This role is suitable for someone with strong retail management skills, knowledge of
convenience store operations and the ability to manage a fast-paced retail and
wholesale environment.

Key Responsibilities
 Plan, organise, direct and coordinate the daily operations of the dairy superette
and wholesale business.
 Manage overall retail store performance, including sales operations, customer
service, stock availability and business growth activities.
 Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability and
customer service targets.
 Monitor business performance, prepare sales reports, manage budgets and
control operational expenses.
 Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate retail sta􀆯 to ensure e􀆯icient operations
and high standards of customer service.
 Prepare sta􀆯 rosters, allocate daily duties, monitor attendance and ensure
e􀆯ective workforce management.
 Manage inventory levels, purchasing, stock ordering, receiving, storage, stock
rotation and regular stocktakes.
 Coordinate wholesale supply operations for electronic cigarette and vaping
products, ensuring accurate ordering, distribution and stock management.
 Maintain relationships with suppliers, wholesalers and distributors regarding
product availability, pricing, promotions and supply arrangements.
 Monitor product demand, customer preferences and market trends to improve
sales opportunities and business performance.
 Oversee retail sales of dairy products, convenience items, electronic cigarette
and vaping products in accordance with company policies and applicable
regulations.
 Ensure accurate processing of sales transactions, refunds, exchanges and cashhandling
procedures.
 Manage customer enquiries, complaints and service issues, providing
appropriate resolutions to maintain customer satisfaction.
 Maintain merchandising standards, product displays, promotional activities and
store presentation.
 Coordinate wholesale customer orders, maintain client relationships and
support timely product delivery.
 Maintain accurate records relating to sales, inventory, supplier transactions,
customer accounts and business operations.
 Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, privacy
obligations, security procedures and company policies.
 Identify opportunities for business improvement, expansion and increased
profitability.
 Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and wholesale
clients.

Requirements
The successful applicant should have:
 A Diploma Level 5 or higher qualification OR
 Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail management, sales, administration,
wholesale operations or a related field.
 Strong understanding of retail store operations, inventory management and
customer service.
 Experience managing staff, suppliers and daily business activities.
 Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
 Ability to manage multiple business functions in a busy retail and wholesale
environment.
