Description

CBD Milk & Food Ltd is looking for a permanent, full-time Operations Lead to join our busy team.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

•       Plan, coordinate and oversee daily distribution operations across the company’s delivery routes, ensuring goods are delivered in full and on time to our customers.

•       Oversee the upkeep of the company’s fleet of vehicles, including scheduling, coordinating and monitoring all servicing and maintenance.

•       Arrange vehicle repairs, replacements or acquisitions when necessary, and oversee the procurement of fuel and equipment.

•       Plan and implement transport schedules and route allocation, including receiving, allocating and managing daily delivery jobs.

•       Manage the storage, loading, transport and delivery of goods in a way that meets customer expectations and food safety and cold-chain requirements.

•       Oversee stock and supply-chain functions, including stock management, ordering and reconciliation, to ensure daily replenishment requirements are met.

•       Liaise directly with customers to understand requirements, organise logistics and resolve any complaints or service issues.

•       Coordinate the logistics involved in the arrival, departure, loading and unloading of vehicles.

•       Ensure that all vehicles, equipment, work sites and operating conditions comply with health, safety, food safety and other applicable regulatory standards.

•       Hold and maintain a current New Zealand heavy vehicle licence, and step in to drive company vehicles when required – including relief driving when drivers are on leave or absent, and collecting and returning vehicles to maintenance yards.

•       Manage back-office administration, keep accurate business records and report to the directors.

Requirements:

•       At least 2 years’ relevant or transferable experience in transport, logistics, distribution, delivery or a related field

•       Sound knowledge of delivery route scheduling and related logistics

•       Good understanding of fleet maintenance scheduling and repair coordination

•       Good understanding of stock management, ordering and reconciliation processes

•       Strong customer service skills

•       Good understanding of related health, safety and food safety requirements

•       A current New Zealand heavy vehicle licence (Class 2, 4 or 5, or overseas equivalent)

•       Good computer literacy for record-keeping and back-office tasks

•       Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced delivery environment

Pay rate:

$42.50 to $52.50 per hour

Hours:

As this is a full-time position, you will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week. May involve early starts, evening or weekend work.
