Aotearoa Auto Haulage Limited is currently seeking multiple Truck Drivers to join its team in the Canterbury region. The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong time management, a professional approach, and a commitment to safe and efficient driving while completing daily delivery operations.

We operate a fleet of Class 1, Class 2, and Class 4 vehicles, and successful applicants will be assigned duties based on the driver's licence they hold.

The role involves travel within the Canterbury region and to nearby regions as required, with all work-related travel and fuel expenses covered by the employer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a company truck to carry and deliver goods to assigned clients and locations.
  • Safely handle the loading and unloading of freight in line with correct handling procedures.
  • Accurately document delivery information and maintain required records.
  • Ensure the vehicle is refuelled as needed to support ongoing operations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned vehicle.
  • Promptly report any delays, incidents, or disruptions encountered during travel.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and road safety regulations while driving.
  • Carry out routine vehicle checks and report any defects or concerns.
  • Immediately inform management of any accidents and follow established protocols.
  • Keep accurate logbooks of driving hours and work activities.
  • Report mechanical faults to maintenance staff without delay.
  • Plan and optimise delivery routes using GPS tools to ensure timely service.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and provide courteous service to clients at all times.

The candidates will be required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week and be paid between $30 to $35 per hour.

Other Requirements: 

  • Relevant work experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must hold a clean and valid New Zealand minimum Class 1 Truck Driver’s Licence or an equivalent overseas licence to drive.
  • Physically fit and able to perform daily driving tasks, including lifting when necessary.
  • Available to work on weekends.
  • Strong time management skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
