We are seeking an individual who will have commitment to excellence and strong organisational and communications skills. They will also display high presentation standards, honesty and an excellent work ethic. If successful you will be responsible for assisting in the planning and coordinating all the day to day operations of the Transport Company and ensuring staff are well trained to provide the best overall service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop business management goals and objectives that tend to grow the business and bring prosperity.
2. Design and implement business plans and strategies to promote the attainment of goals.
3. Ensure that company has adequate work and income to meet all the company’s financial obligations.
4. Organise and coordinate operations in ways to maximise the business growth and potential.
5. Responsible to monitor the fuel card transactions.
6. Collecting driver’s log book copy on a weekly basis.
7. Undertake truck driving duties as necessary to maintain operational requirements, including completing deliveries and transportation services in circumstances where a regular driver is unavailable or fails to report for duty, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and customer commitments.
8. Coordinate and arrange routine maintenance, servicing, repairs, and inspections of the company's fleet vehicles and trailers. This includes transporting trucks and trailers to and from workshops, service providers, inspection stations, and compliance facilities to ensure that all vehicles remain roadworthy, compliant, and operational.
9. Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure that all servicing, repairs, Certificates of Fitness (COF), registrations, and other compliance requirements are completed within the required timeframes to minimise vehicle downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
10. Receiving orders and bookings for the deliveries and planning their transportation for the next day.
11. Maintain the business records and prepare operational statements and report
12. Report the director on weekly basis and provide him the business updates.
13. Recheck the delivery and pick up dockets and run the credit process.
14. Liaising with clients to determine their requirements and providing them the best possible advice for selection of vehicle for their requirements and negotiate hiring rates.
15. Supervise the implementation of all health and safety regulations.
16. Responsibility to test, hire and train new drivers and staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Diploma level qualification, or at least two years of relevant experience.
· Truck driver’s license
· Right to work in New Zealand (New Zealand citizens, residents, or current work visa holders).
