The Production Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising the daily production activities within the quarry and processing operations. The role ensures production targets are achieved safely and efficiently by supervising production staff, coordinating machinery operations, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with company health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of machine operators and production staff to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
  • Plan, organise and schedule daily production work, allocate resources, and monitor workflow to maximise productivity.
  • Direct and oversee quarry production operations, ensuring machinery and equipment are operated in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
  • Monitor the operation and condition of production machinery, ensure pre-start inspections are completed, report faults, and coordinate maintenance to minimise downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies by promoting safe work practices, monitoring the use of PPE, and reporting hazards, incidents and near misses.
  • Train, mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to production employees on machinery operation, production processes and workplace safety.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide feedback and support continuous improvement in productivity, quality and teamwork.
  • Inspect production processes and finished products to ensure they meet company quality standards and operational requirements.
  • Communicate production plans, operational priorities and safety information with employees, management and maintenance personnel to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain accurate production records and other operational documentation.

What we're looking for

  • NZQF level 4 relevant qualification, OR
  • Two years of relevant experience;
  • A strong, collaborative team player who can confidently share expertise
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to give clear and precise instructions
  • A practical, safety-focused approach to quarry and plant operations

Minimum hours per week: 30 Hours
Maximum hours per week: 60 hours
