Modern Transport Engineers is one of New Zealand's largest and most respected trailer manufacturers, employing over 400 staff across our group. We manufacture premium heavy transport trailers valued from $600,000 to over $900,000, with much of our production exported to Australia.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Auto Electrician / Leading Hand who takes pride in producing world-class work and wants to be part of a team that's recognised for quality and innovation.

What You'll Be Doing

• Wiring complete heavy transport trailers from the ground up.
• Installing advanced radio remote control systems.
• Wiring diesel engines, hydraulic controls and electronic systems.
• Installing LED lighting, braking and safety systems.
• Fault finding, testing and commissioning.
• Assisting and mentoring other electricians.
• Ensuring every trailer meets the highest quality standards before it leaves the factory.

What We're Looking For

• Qualified Auto Electrician or equivalent experience.
• Experience with heavy vehicles, trucks, earthmoving equipment, agricultural machinery or transport equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
• Excellent workmanship and attention to detail.
• A positive attitude and pride in doing the job right the first time.

Experience with CANbus systems, hydraulics or radio controls is an advantage but not essential.
