GS Lubana Limited is seeking a reliable and proactive  Fleet Manager to oversee the daily operations of our growing transport business based in Takanini.  The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that our fleet of vehicles operates efficiently and safely, and complies with New Zealand transport laws. Minimum hours of work will be 30, and the maximum will be 50 hours.

 

 

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys managing people, processes, and logistics to ensure smooth and timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Coordinate and manage day-to-day fleet operations and vehicle schedules.

  • Organize the purchase, leasing, and sale of vehicles, including maintaining related agreements.

  • Supervise drivers and operational staff, ensuring high performance and professionalism.

  • Plan and schedule deliveries to ensure timely collection and delivery of goods.

  • Manage vehicle maintenance, repairs, servicing, and compliance with NZTA and health & safety standards.

  • Monitor and maintain accurate fleet records, driver logs, and operational reports.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, transport regulations, and customer service standards.

  • Liaise with clients and third-party partners to resolve operational issues efficiently.

  • Implement and monitor workplace health and safety procedures.

Skills, Experience, and Attributes Required  

  • Minimum 2 years of  experience and knowledge about the transport sector; OR

  • Some kind of qualification will be required and will be beneficial.

  • Sound understanding of vehicle maintenance, scheduling, and transport compliance.

  • Strong organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and client service abilities.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • A proactive, hands-on attitude with strong attention to detail.

  • Valid NZ Driver’s Licence (Class 5 required; D & F endorsement preferred).
