7 Builders Ltd is a growing construction company specialising in residential and commercial building projects, renovations, maintenance work, decks, pergolas, fencing and general construction services. We are seeking experienced Carpenters to join our team.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team in Gisborne. In this role, you will undertake a variety of carpentry and construction duties across residential and commercial projects. You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality building and maintenance services while ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and apply project drawings, specifications and building plans.

  • Accurately measure, mark and assemble timber and other building materials.

  • Construct, install, alter and repair timber framing, structures and fittings.

  • Set out building works and prepare site layouts in accordance with project requirements.

  • Construct and install outdoor structures, including decks, pergolas and fences.

  • Install internal linings, flooring, cladding, doors and windows.

  • Install formwork and prepare foundations where required.

  • Carry out maintenance, repair and renovation work on existing structures.

  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools and construction equipment.

  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications and quality standards.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients and subcontractors.

  • Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Drive company vehicles and travel between worksites as required.

  • Perform other carpentry and construction duties as reasonably required.

What We Are Looking For

Applicants must have either:

  • A Level 4 qualification or higher in Construction or a related field; or

  • At least 2 years of relevant construction industry experience.

  • A current Class 1 Driver Licence or overseas equivalent.

You will also have:

  • A good understanding of construction methods and materials.

  • The ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • A commitment to workplace health and safety.

  • Competitive pay rate of $30.00 to $40.00 per hour. Dependent upon qualifications and experience.

  • Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.

Location and Hours of Work

This position is primarily based in Gisborne, with work undertaken at various project sites throughout the Gisborne District as required by operational needs.

The ordinary hours of work are generally performed Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 6:00pm.
