ExtraStaff is currently seeking experienced Excavator Operators for an ongoing civil construction project based in Whitianga. We are working with a reputable civil contractor delivering ongoing earthworks and infrastructure works in the region. This is a great opportunity for skilled operators looking for consistent work on a long-term project.

About the Role

 

You will be operating excavators on a live civil site, supporting a range of earthworks activities including:

 

  • Bulk earthworks and site preparation


 

  • Trenching and drainage work


 

  • Loading trucks and moving materials around site


 

  • Final trim / detailed excavation (where skilled)


 

  • Supporting roading and infrastructure works


 

  • Daily machine checks and basic maintenance


 

  • Working closely with civil crews to meet project deadlines


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What We’re Looking For

 

  • Proven experience operating excavators (essential)


 

  • Strong civil construction or earthworks background


 

  • Confident operating in a busy site environment


 

  • Strong health & safety awareness


 

  • Reliable, hardworking, and physically fit


 

  • Ability to work independently and within a team


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence


 

  • WTR Endorsements preferred


 

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test


 

  • Legal right to work in New Zealand


 

  • Site Safe or ConstructSafe (preferred but not essential)
