HAMILTON CAR SERVICES LIMITED is seeking 2 reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Mowers/Gardeners to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role involves maintaining and enhancing the outdoor areas of residential, commercial and industrial properties to a high standard.

The successful applicant will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver professional gardening and grounds maintenance services while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mow lawns using commercial mowing equipment and maintain grassed areas to a high standard.
  • Trim edges, hedges, shrubs and small trees using appropriate gardening equipment.
  • Remove weeds, leaves, branches and other garden waste from outdoor areas.
  • Plant, water, prune and care for flowers, plants, trees and shrubs.
  • Prepare and maintain garden beds by cultivating soil and applying mulch, fertilisers and compost where required.
  • Operate and maintain lawn mowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers, blowers and other gardening equipment.
  • Identify and report plant diseases, pests or maintenance issues.
  • Load, unload and transport gardening equipment and materials safely.
  • Maintain clean and tidy work sites throughout and after completion of each job.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and ensure equipment is used safely.
  • Complete assigned work efficiently and maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service at all times.

 

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have:

  • Previous experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, landscaping or a similar role is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
  • Basic knowledge of lawn care, plant maintenance and gardening techniques is an advantage.
  • A current Full New Zealand Driver Licence, or a Restricted Licence with the ability to obtain a Full Licence.
  • Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
  • Reliable, punctual and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
