247 Workshop Limited is looking for a full-time Motor Mechanic to join the team. Ideal candidates must have the following:
• 2 years relevant experience or a New Zealand Level 4 (or above) relevant qualification in automotive engineering / motor mechanics
• Must be able to work on weekends and work overtime
• Must be flexible to work early-morning and late-night shifts
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy workshop
• Strong commitment to safe work practices
• Be hard-working, reliable and motivated
• Can work well and efficiently both unsupervised and within a team
• Physically fit for the demands of the role
Job Responsibilities:
• Inspecting, diagnosing and identifying mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components
• Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, suspension, brakes and other components, and inspecting parts
• Repairing and reassembling mechanical parts, replacing worn or damaged parts, and referring to manufacturer service manuals as required
• Carrying out routine servicing and maintenance, including engine tune-ups, lubrication, and oil and filter changes
• Using computerised diagnostic equipment to test and diagnose vehicle systems and components
• Carrying out Warrant of Fitness (WOF) and Certificate of Fitness (COF) inspections, or detailing the work needed to meet roadworthiness standards
• Road-testing vehicles after repair to confirm they operate correctly and safely
• Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
• Keeping accurate records of work carried out and parts used
• Complying with all company and government health and safety guidelines
• Any other tasks that are reasonably requested by the employer from time to time
