Full-time Assistant Store Manager Needed (30–40 hours per week)

GUNATIT CORPORATION LIMITED is an Indian grocery retail store focusing on quality, affordable groceries and fresh vegetable products. We are one of the best-loved grocery stores in the Mount Roskill area of Auckland, known for our professional service, quality products, and excellent customer experience.

Location: Mount Roskill, Auckland

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in a supermarket or grocery retail supervisory position; or
  • A relevant Diploma qualification in Retail Management, Business, or a related field
  • Strong leadership, organisational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the store, including supervising staff and ensuring efficient workflow
  • Develop and maintain employee rosters and coordinate promotional activities based on seasonal sales and business cycles
  • Identify opportunities to promote the store, product range, and customer services to increase sales
  • Manage product pricing, merchandising, and seasonal promotional campaigns
  • Oversee stock control, inventory ordering, replenishment, and product merchandising
  • Ensure excellent customer service is consistently delivered and customer issues are resolved professionally
  • Develop staff rosters, assist with recruitment, provide training, and monitor employee performance
  • Implement sales strategies and operational improvements to maximise profitability
  • Maintain health, safety, food hygiene, and workplace compliance standards
  • Serve customers at the checkout and assist with customer enquiries when required
  • Ensure products are correctly priced, labelled, and attractively displayed throughout the store
  • Participate in recruiting new staff and support onboarding and training activities
  • Carry out any other managerial duties reasonably required
