An opportunity has arisen for 5 experienced metal fabricator-welders to join our team located in Auckland.

This is a full time position guarantee as least 30 hours per week.

Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years' experience within the fabrication engineering industry.

Pay: $28 to$32 per hour depends on experience and learning ability.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding, familiarising with and following to all health and safety protocols.

  • Studying technical blueprints, illustrations, and detailed specifications for project requisites.

  • Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal materials.

  • Utilising hand-operated tools, thermal cutting equipment, and metal-slicing machinery to cut designated metal.

  • Forming and bending metal sections and pipes with both hand-operated and mechanized tools, including techniques involving heating and hammering.

  • Aligning components for assembly with hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

  • Assembling metal parts through a variety of welding processes, along with bolting and riveting.

  • Examining welding work for dimensional bead accuracy, material penetration, and overall precision.

  • Finishing final products through cleansing, burnishing, shaping, and acid solution immersion.

  • Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years fabricating/ welding or relevant experience
