Established in 2004, Sunshine Solar has become a leading name in solar energy solutions. We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Technican in Christrchurch, this role is full time with minimum 30 hours a week and Salary of 92-96 depending on your qualification and work experience
- Assist Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists with the design and layout of electrical installations, switchgear, cabling systems, motor control systems, substations, and renewable energy systems.
- Review and verify system designs, including inverter selection, battery sizing, export limitations, network requirements, and overall compliance prior to installation.
- Collect technical data, perform system testing, analyse performance results, prepare graphs, charts, and reports, and recommend performance improvements.
- Monitor installed systems using remote monitoring platforms, investigate performance issues, diagnose faults, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with research, product evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, efficiency, and design standards.
- Estimate material quantities and prepare cost estimates.
- Inspect electrical designs and completed installations to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, industry standards, and applicable electrical regulations.
- Assemble, install, test, calibrate, modify, and repair electrical equipment, protection relays, metering devices, monitoring equipment, and associated electrical installations.
- Prepare commissioning documentation, technical specifications, Distributed Generation (DG) application documentation, and other compliance-related documentation.
- Provide technical support to installation, operations, customer service, and sales teams by resolving technical enquiries and assisting with warranty claims and technical escalations.
- Develop and maintain technical procedures, documentation, and training resources to support continuous improvement across the business.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) Level 4 qualification in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; or
- At least two years' relevant work experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
