We are seeking an experienced and proactive Pick Pack Manager for our Christchurch Branch to lead our warehouse picking, packing, and dispatch operations while driving efficiency, accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement across the business.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Dispatch Manager, the Pick Pack Manager will oversee all picking, packing, and dispatch activities in our warehouse. You will lead a team of warehouse staff, ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time, and implement strategies that improve operational performance while reducing errors and costs.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong people management skills, operational expertise, and a commitment to health and safety excellence.

  • Employment Type: Full‑time, permanent | 40 Hours a week
  • Pay Rate: $32 - $36 per hour, depending on experience
  • Location: 220 Cumnor Terrace, Woolston, Christchurch

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate daily warehouse pick, pack, and dispatch operations.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate warehouse team members to achieve productivity, accuracy, and service targets.
  • Plan staffing levels and prepare rosters to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure customer orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Identify operational risks and proactively report, manage, and mitigate them.
  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture throughout the warehouse.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and company policies and procedures.
  • Implement operational strategies and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and control costs.
  • Monitor warehouse KPIs, including picking accuracy, productivity, inventory accuracy, and order fulfilment performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle customer enquiries and operational issues professionally and effectively.
  • Manage inventory accuracy and assist with stock control and stocktake activities.
  • Investigate discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support recruitment, training, performance management, and development of warehouse team members.

About You

You will have experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment, ideally with exposure to supervising or leading a team. You’ll bring strong communication skills, a hands‑on approach, and the ability to maintain performance standards in a fast‑paced operational setting.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • At least two year's of experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Manager, Pick Pack Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification is essential.
  • Forklift licence is essential.
  • Experience within wholesale, FMCG, food distribution, logistics, or supply chain environments.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse picking, packing, inventory control, and dispatch operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve operational processes and drive productivity.
  • Experience planning labour requirements and managing team rosters.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
