About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fleet Manager to oversee the management, performance, and compliance of our vehicle fleet and transportation operations across New Zealand. This role is responsible for ensuring the  efficient coordination of moving services, fleet maintenance, driver supervision, and operational planning to support the continued growth and success of the business. The position requires both strategic and hands-on involvement in fleet operations, ensuring our vehicles, equipment, and workforce are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.


Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily transportation and moving operations across multiple locations
• Manage the procurement, registration, leasing, replacement, and maintenance of company vehicles and moving equipment
• Monitor fleet performance, vehicle utilisation, servicing schedules, fuel consumption, and operating costs
• Ensure all vehicles and equipment comply with transport regulations, licensing requirements, and health and safety standards
• Coordinate vehicle scheduling and resource allocation to meet customer bookings and service commitments
• Develop and implement efficient transportation routes and operational procedures to maximise productivity
• Supervise drivers and moving crew members, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety procedures
• Monitor employee performance and provide training, coaching, and performance feedback where required
• Ensure safe loading, transportation, and unloading of customer belongings and furniture

• Investigate and manage vehicle incidents, accidents, breakdowns, and maintenance issues
• Liaise with customers and operational staff to ensure service requirements are met and issues are resolved promptly
• Maintain accurate fleet records, maintenance logs, compliance documentation, and operational reports
• Assist management with budgeting, cost control, fleet planning, and operational improvements
• Promote a strong culture of customer service, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the transport operation


Minimum Requirements
• Must hold a minimum Diploma qualification OR at least three years of relevant work experience
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, fleet administration, and operational planning
• Knowledge of New Zealand transport regulations, health and safety requirements, and compliance obligations
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in record-keeping, reporting, and fleet management systems
