Garden of York in Levin is a retail store providing quality, fresh fruit and vegetables to the local community. We are looking for a supervisor to support our day-to-day financial operations.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 30-40 hours per week. 

Key Duties Include:

  • Maintaining financial records of daily sales, supplier purchases, and business transactions
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, including processing supplier invoices and tracking customer payments
  • Preparing invoices, purchase orders, and recording bank deposits from daily takings
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are correctly recorded
  • Monitoring cash flow, including daily sales income and outgoing payments to suppliers, to support business operations
  • Assisting with payroll processing and maintaining wage records for staff
  • Preparing financial reports, including basic profit and loss summaries, budgets, and expense tracking reports for management
  • Reviewing financial records to ensure accuracy and identifying any discrepancies or irregularities for management attention
  • Supporting stock-related financial tracking, including matching supplier invoices with delivered goods where required
  • Preparing and assisting with GST returns and ensuring compliance with New Zealand tax obligations

To Be Successful, You Must Have one of the following:

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in retail industry, OR
  • A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above
    (Relevant fields include, but are not limited to: business management or related fields.)
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information
  • Experience in retail or small business operations is an advantage
