Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plant, transplant, and maintain greenhouse crops.
- Perform crop care activities including pruning, training, trellising, leaf removal, and general plant maintenance.
- Monitor crops for pests, diseases, and other plant health issues and report concerns to supervisors.
- Assist with irrigation and fertilization activities as directed.
- Harvest cucumbers according to quality specifications and production schedules.
- Grade, sort, and pack produce to meet customer and market requirements.
- Label and prepare products for dispatch.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the greenhouse and packing areas.
- Clean and sanitize tools, equipment, workstations, and growing areas.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving produce, supplies, and materials.
- Follow all food safety, quality assurance, and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to support daily greenhouse operations.
Skills and Experience
- Previous greenhouse, horticulture, farming, or agricultural experience is must.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
