Rivero Recruitment Limited is seeking 2 experienced General Fitters to join our workforce based in Auckland. These are full-time permanent positions supporting our client operations in the manufacturing and production sector.
 
Location: Auckland
Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent
Hours of Work: Minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 50 hours per week
Pay Rate: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
Shift Work: Day and night shift rotations may apply depending on client site requirements
Start Date: To be confirmed upon appointment
 
Key Responsibilities
 
- Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment, machinery, and plant according to specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Fit and align machine parts, bearings, gearboxes, and other mechanical components
- Use hand and power tools, including precision measuring equipment
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns
- Weld, cut, and fabricate metal components as required
- Complete maintenance logs and job documentation
- Adhere to all health, safety, and site-specific protocols
- Work collaboratively with other trades and production/maintenance teams
 
Requirements
 
- Trade qualification as a Fitter (e.g. NZ Certificate in Mechanical Engineering – Fitting, Level 4, or recognised overseas equivalent)
OR
- Minimum 3 years of proven fitting/mechanical trade experience
- Experience reading engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Sound knowledge of mechanical systems and workplace health and safety requirements
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand
