Marine Detailing Company is seeking a skilled Boat Builder to join our growing Auckland team. This is a full-time, permanent trade position responsible for carrying out boat building, repair, restoration and maintenance work on a range of recreational and commercial marine vessels, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard of workmanship and in accordance with marine industry best practices.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have either:

  • A relevant trade qualification in Boat Building, Marine Repair, Composite Fabrication or another closely related
    trade.

OR

  • At least three (3) years' full-time relevant experience as a Boat Builder or in a closely related occupation.

Key Skills

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Experience in boat building, marine repair, restoration or vessel maintenance.
  • Knowledge of fibreglass, composite construction and marine fabrication techniques.
  • Ability to safely operate workshop machinery, power tools and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to perform manual trade work, including lifting, grinding and laminating.
  • A current full driver's licence is preferred.

32.5 hours minimum guaranteed per week, Mon - Fri
