About the role

Rightmove Recruitment are seeking experienced Carpenters and Hammer Hands to join our team in Christchurch. We have solid forward work with ongoing projects across the Canterbury Region.
  
You will be working alongside a great team of friendly skilled people on different residential and commercial projects.  Your expertise will be essential in ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Starting pay rate will be $28.00 to $36.00 per hour depending on your skills and experience.

What you'll be doing
  

• Undertake all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, roofing, flooring, and finishing
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate completion of projects
• Collaborate with the project manager, sub-contractors, and clients to coordinate and execute construction schedules
• Maintain a safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
• Mentor and train junior carpenters, passing on your expertise and knowledge  

What we're looking for

• You will have at least 2 years' experience in a construction environment
• Excellent knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace health and safety
• Excellent time management and organisational skills
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Formal qualification in Carpentry preferred but not essential
• You will need your own tools
• Full licence and reliable transport to get to work
• 2 contactable references
