Due to continued business growth, we are seeking to recruit one full-time Roofer to join our professional team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret building plans, specifications, and site requirements to determine roofing materials and installation methods.
  • Set up and work safely on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated work platforms.
  • Install roofing underlay, waterproof membranes, and protective barriers to ensure weatherproof roofing systems.
  • Lay, align, and secure roof tiles in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Measure, cut, and shape roofing materials to fit around roof penetrations, chimneys, vents, valleys, ridges, and other roof features.
  • Install and secure ridge, hip, and edge tiles using appropriate fixing methods and mortar where required.
  • Fit flashing systems and waterproofing components to prevent water ingress and ensure long-term roof performance.
  • Seal and finish roofing installations, including waterproofing exposed fixings and joints.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality workmanship, structural integrity, and compliance with relevant building standards.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy work environment and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Work across residential and commercial construction sites throughout the Auckland region.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • At least three years of relevant work experience in roof tiling or relevant field.
  • A relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification may substitute for the required work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of roofing materials, waterproofing systems, and flashing installation.
  • Ability to work at heights and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
