This is a full-time, permanent position with a minimum 32 hours/week of work.
Electronic Repair technician
Key Responsibilities
Technical Repair Duties (Primary Duties)
- Diagnose faults in mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and related electronic devices using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace damaged components including LCD screens, touch panels, batteries, charging ports, cameras, speakers, microphones, keyboards, hard drives, SSDs, RAM, motherboards, hinges, cooling systems, and other internal components.
- Perform software installation, operating system upgrades, firmware updates, virus removal, data backup and recovery, and system optimisation.
- Conduct functionality testing before and after repairs to ensure devices meet quality standards.
- Chip level Laptop and Mobile phones PCB Board repair.
- Carry out soldering, micro-soldering, and board-level repairs where required.
- Maintain accurate repair records, including diagnostics, parts replaced, repair procedures, and testing outcomes.
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and repair equipment and report stock shortages.
- Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications, workplace procedures, and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe repair workspace.
Customer Service Duties
- Greet customers professionally and assess repair requirements.
- Explain diagnostic findings, repair options, estimated costs, and expected turnaround times.
- Prepare repair quotations and obtain customer approval before commencing repairs.
- Answer customer enquiries in person, by telephone, and via email.
- Process repair bookings, update customers on repair progress, and notify customers when repairs are completed.
- Handle customer payments, issue invoices and receipts, and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate complex issues where appropriate.
- Promote accessories, protective products, and additional repair or maintenance services where appropriate.
General Responsibilities
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information and device data.
- Participate in training to keep up to date with emerging technologies and repair techniques.
- Perform other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.
What we are looking for:
- Relevant Level 4 qualification or higher OR at least three years of relevant work experience
- Ability to work unsupervised in a diligent and consistent manner
- Strong attention to detail
- Clear spoken and written communication skill and the ability to multi - task
