Sense Forrest Thai Massage is a professional Thai massage business located in Masterton. We offer a friendly, welcoming, and relaxing workplace and provide a range of therapeutic massage treatments, including traditional Thai massage, oil massage, and foot massage.

We are currently looking for a professional and experienced Thai Massage Therapist to join our team.
What We Are Looking For
Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:

At least one year of experience working in a massage business; or
-
A relevant qualification at New Zealand Register Diploma level or higher. Overseas qualifications must be comparable to the equivalent New Zealand qualification; or

National Skill Standard Testing Level 1 in Traditional Thai Massage from Thailand.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:

Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all treatment areas.

Ensuring that massage equipment, tools, and treatment areas are properly cleaned and prepared each day.

Maintaining a professional appearance and a high standard of personal hygiene at all times.

Providing reception cover when required.
-
Delivering excellent customer service and communicating professionally with clients, management, and co-workers.

Demonstrating professionalism, reliability, confidence, and a customer-focused approach.

Using appropriate massage and body manipulation techniques supported by a sound knowledge of human anatomy and the different regions of the body.

Understanding the benefits of massage therapy and client wellbeing, including the causes of pain and appropriate techniques to relieve discomfort and restore function and mobility.

Taking a holistic approach by assessing each client’s overall health and providing treatment according to their individual needs.

Consulting with clients to understand their massage needs and preferences and adjusting techniques where appropriate.

Guiding clients through the available services and helping them choose the most suitable type of massage.

Explaining the benefits of Thai massage therapy to clients.

Informing clients about available Thai massage treatments and advising which treatments may be most beneficial.

Performing therapeutic massage using appropriate manipulation, twisting, and stretching techniques on specific areas of the body.

Preparing the products to be used on clients’ skin each day.
-
Asking clients appropriate questions about their health and medical conditions before agreeing to provide treatment.

Communicating with clients to arrange and schedule appointments and treatment sessions.
-
Maintaining a professional and welcoming attitude and placing clients’ needs first.

Keeping up to date with client requirements, industry developments, and competitors.
-
Responding promptly to client enquiries to support the reputation and profitability of the business.

Attending all scheduled staff meetings.
-
Attending required training and continuing professional development courses, including pregnancy massage and hot stone massage training.

Demonstrating strong attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
-
Carrying out any other related duties as reasonably required.
Position Details

This is a full-time, permanent position.
-
The pay rate is between $27 and $35 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
-
Holiday pay and sick leave will be provided in accordance with New Zealand employment law.
-
The primary place of work is 3 Jackson Street, Masterton 5810.
-
From time to time, the successful applicants may also be required to work at our Carterton location at 111 High Street North, Carterton 5713.

You will work according to a roster over five to six days each week.
-
A minimum of 30 hours per week is guaranteed, with a maximum of 45 hours per week.
Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or residents or hold a valid New Zealand work visa.
