Floor Installer

4U WOOD FLOORING LIMITED is looking for a Floor Installer to join our busy team in Auckland. 

Some of the duties related to this role would be:

• Measure rooms and check plans to figure out how much flooring material is needed.
• Get floors ready by cleaning and smoothing them, and remove baseboards if needed.
• Measure, cut, and place underlay (padding) on the floor.
• Lay different types of flooring like carpet, vinyl, wood blocks, cork, or other materials.
• Match patterns, cut around corners or fixtures, and trim the edges neatly.
• Secure the flooring in place and install trims at doorways.
• Sand, stain, and apply finishes to wooden floors.
• Install coverings on walls, ceilings, counters, and benches if required.
• Perform General Maintenance of Equipments
• Perform Setup and clean-up tasks at the job site
• Setting up power tools for installation
• Preparing the subfloor by grinding and vacuuming
• Removing existing flooring and discarding the material
• Completing installation by applying appropriate finishes
• Should have fair knowledge of power tools
• Following all safety measures while using power tools

Working on weekends and being available on calls are required for this position.

Offered Wage: $30 - $35 per hour (based on experience)
Employment is full-time with a minimum of 30 hours per week.

You should have at least 2-3 years of relevant work experience or a relevant qualification (NZ level 4 diploma or higher).

All suitable candidates should be able to pass a drug test and a Ministry of Justice check when required.
