Look for an HR superstar for this permanent full time role. 

This role is hands-on and you must be willing to deal with people face to face. 

You will be working in a meat processing plant, and must be comfortable in this environment. Experience in the meat industry would be highly sought after. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee onboarding processes to ensure compliance and a positive employee experience.
  •  Provide oversight of leave management processes, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and legislation.
  • Manage termination and offboarding processes (including seasonal layoffs), ensuring legal compliance and accurate final payments.
  • Ensure all employment documentation complies with current employment law, immigration requirements, and organisational standards. 
  • Monitor and interpret changes in employment legislation (including ACC, Holidays Act, and visa conditions) and support implementation. 
  • Assist in managing employee relations matters, including terminations, and seasonal workforce transitions.
  • Ensure compliance with IRD, ACC, Court orders, and other statutory deductions and reporting obligations.
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on employment agreements, legislative obligations, and workplace policies.
  • Oversee payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Preparation of reports and ensure all systems are updated
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR and payroll systems, processes, and controls
  • Support the implementation of HR initiatives, including system enhancements and process efficiencies
  • Support the development and delivery of HR initiatives, including health & safety, recruitment, and training programs.
  • Assist in communication strategies to ensure effective engagement and buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Liaise with external providers (e.g., insurers, government agencies) to support employee benefits and compliance requirements.
  • Support external audit processes by ensuring availability and accuracy of payroll and HR documentation.
  • Manage plant activities (e.g. staff sales)

Role Requirements 

  • Relevant Bachelors degree or 3 years work experience 
  • Experience in the meat industry 
  • Comfortable working in a meat processing plant 
  • Experience dealing wiht employees face to face
