Location: Various locations across Auckland (depending on project sites)

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
Pay Rate: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour

About the Role

GS Builders Limited is looking for experienced and reliable persons to join our team. The successful applicant will work on a variety of residential and commercial construction projects throughout Auckland, carrying out a wide range of carpentry duties while maintaining high standards of workmanship and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret building plans, specifications and drawings.
• Measure, cut and assemble timber and other building materials.
• Construct, install and repair wall framing, roof framing, flooring systems and structural components.
• Install doors, windows, skirting boards, architraves, cabinetry and other interior finishing materials.
• Carry out formwork, cladding, decking, fencing and other exterior carpentry work as required.
• Use and maintain hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
• Ensure all work complies with New Zealand Building Code requirements, building specifications and health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors, subcontractors and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised worksite.
• Perform other carpentry-related duties as reasonably required.

Skills and Experience Required

To be considered for this position, applicants should have:

• A minimum of two (2) years' practical work experience in the construction industry, or a relevant Level 4 qualification
• Ability to confidently use carpentry hand tools, power tools and construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual work in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A current full New Zealand Driver Licence (or an overseas equivalent that can be converted) is preferred.
