We are seeking a skilled Web Developer (Web Programmer) to design, develop, maintain, and improve websites and web-based applications that support our business operations and online presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain company websites and web applications using appropriate programming languages and web technologies.

  • Analyse business and user requirements and develop technical solutions that meet operational needs.

  • Develop responsive, user-friendly, and secure websites across desktop and mobile platforms.

  • Integrate websites with databases, APIs, payment gateways, and third-party business applications where required.

  • Monitor website performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement enhancements to improve functionality and user experience.

  • Maintain website security, backups, and software updates to ensure reliable operation.

  • Collaborate with business users, designers, and other ICT professionals to deliver web development projects.

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and system documentation.

  • Support search engine optimisation (SEO), website analytics, and digital performance improvements.

  • Keep up to date with emerging web technologies and recommend improvements to support business growth.

Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree (NZQF Level 7 or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, ASP.NET, Python, or other modern web programming languages.

  • Experience with SQL databases, content management systems (CMS), and web frameworks.

  • Knowledge of responsive web design, web security, and API integration.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Experience with SEO and website performance optimisation will be an advantage.
