About the Role

We are seeking motivated and reliable Plumber’s Assistants to join our team in Otago Region. This role offers excellent opportunities to gain hands-on experience across residential, commercial, and maintenance plumbing projects. Working closely with our qualified tradespeople, you will play a crucial role in ensuring jobs are completed efficiently while developing your practical skills in the plumbing industry.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assists Plumbers in fabricating, laying, installing and maintaining pipes, fixtures, water meters and regulators
  • Assists in measuring, cutting and fitting pipes and fixtures, and holds pipes in place while Plumber’s weld or solder joints
  • Assists in installing and repairing plumbing fixtures such as toilets, sinks and taps
  • Adhering to all health and safety guidelines to maintain a secure work environment
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workplace, including cleaning up tools and debris
  • Transporting equipment and managing plumbing materials on-site
  • Learning to read blueprints and technical drawings under supervision

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Plumber's Assistant or or relevant Level 4 qualification.
  • Strong physical fitness and the ability to handle manual labor and lifting
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • A keen willingness to learn, take direction, and grow within the trade
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing tools and safety practices is preferred
