We are looking for a baker for our busy Vietnamese restaurant in Christchurch (Bruce's Bahn Mi).

This is a full-time, permanent position. Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed, hourly rate from $27.50.

We are open 6 days a week, from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

The successful applicant will demonstrate their proficiency in being able to prepare and bake authentic Vietnamese style breads including Banh Mi bread and the fillings/pate.

Looking for at least 2 years relevant experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Weigh flour and other ingredients to prepare dough
  • Baking authentic Vietnamese style bread types
  • Monitor and adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
  • Mix, cook and season various ingredients to prepare authentic Vietnamese fillings/pate
  • Store excess food at the correct temperature
  • Help ensure food portions and food presentation meet our standards
  • Monitor supplies and re-order stock as needed
  • Ensure cooking utensils are clean before each use
  • Clean and sanitise food preparation areas
  • Work with other kitchen staff to ensure food orders are completed in a timely manner
  • Help resolve problems with customers' orders efficiently
  • Follow food health and safety regulations
